Continuing the tradition of portraiture and horses, I performed a portrait session recently featuring no less than four horses, two dogs and an owner wanting more than the traditional cliche'd farm shots.
For the first set of images, a fully stacked hay shed to capture some gritty portraits was available. I had planned to use the natural light from the left however it wasn't bright or direct enough. Softbox and Speedlight to the rescue.
With the sun still fairly high in the sky, it was time for some action shots with the horses.
It had been fairly dry of late adding some welcome hoof dust to the shots.
With the sun finally starting to sink to the west, it was time to apply it to its full potential as a backlight.
My thanks to K & S for allowing me to shoot at such a wonderful and dynamic location.
